With its south-facing slope, protected from the climatic influences of the north-western mountains and located at about 400-450 metres above sea level, Sulz guarantees pronounced warmth and particularly ripe grapes. Opok interspersed with sandstone and conglomerates supports the wines' characteristics.

Vineyards
It is one of the best-known and most sought-after sites in southern Styria: the Ried Sulz in Ehrenhausen an der Weinstraße.
The Ried Sulz lies directly on the Styrian-Slovenian border on both sides.
Vinification
Spontaneous fermentation and ageing take place in large neutral oak barrels. The wine is then aged for 18 months on the lees before being bottled.
