At 450 - 570 metres above sea level, this steep, south-facing slope is dominated by red slate.

Vineyards
The Gaisriegl vineyard has been in the family for the longest time and is the origin of Schauer's winemaking tradition. This steep and south-facing slope produces the house's greatest growths.
Vinification
Spontaneously fermented and aged in large wooden barrels and stainless steel tank for 18 months. Storage on the full lees.
