Buschenschank
Culinary delights,
Regionally rooted
and down-to-earth
Here we experience Buschenschank flair in its most beautiful form in an atmospheric garden setting, embedded in a magnificent landscape, framed by shade-giving trees. Inside, cosy parlours with lots of wood, old wooden trams and tiled stoves offer authentic hospitality.
Culinary exhilaration
For decades, Elisabeth Schauer, the senior chef, has been watching over the quality in the kitchen and service. Only the highest quality ingredients are used. Bread and pastries come from our own bakery.
Particular emphasis is placed on the quality of the products. What does not come from our own production is hand-picked from selected farmers and producers directly from the region. And of course the great wines: they thrive in the vineyards all around and mature in the cellars a few metres down the road.
Current Buschenschank opening hours
Season start 2025 from March.
Details will follow.
The culinary classics of South Styrian Buschenschank culture come together - lovingly prepared in the style of the house. First and foremost
the Brettljause. Served on a wooden board, it contains a who's who of delicacies typical of the region: Smoked meat, brisket, raw ham, home-made sausages, minced meat and much more; plus wonderfully fragrant bread from our own bakery.
No less popular are all the other typical South Styrian Buschenschank delicacies: the homemade roast fat, the beetle bean salad with seed oil, regional cheese variety, game board from Schauer Senior, smoked and pickled fish, vegan or vegetarian salads and a particularly traditional speciality: Kübelfleisch.
